Lauren Kennedy

Lauren Kennedy, 16, has been studying guitar at Jammin' Music for almost two years and has shown steady growth and commitment to the instrument.  She is an 11th grader at Lakewood High School.  

"Lauren understands that committed practice is the key to progressing when learning new material," says her instructor, Jason Takaki.  Take it away, Lauren!

Q:  What made you want to learn to play guitar?

A:  I wanted to learn to play an instrument, and guitar interested me the most.

Q:  Is learning to play guitar difficult?

A:  Sometimes it is, but if I keep practicing and repeating what I'm learning, then it's easier.

Q:  What are your musical goals?

A:  To become a better guitar player and to learn to play other instruments.

Q:  Who are your favorite bands?

A:  Led Zeppelin, Blink-182, Jimi Hendrix, the Foo Fighters, and Nirvana.  I also like the old Motown music.

Q:  What do you like about your experience at Jammin' Music?

A:   I like learning new songs.  I also like that I have learned a lot and can reflect back on how much better I've gotten.
